Hikvision equipped objects of NLMK Group with thermovision solutions for temperature measurement of employees

On October 7, 2020 the Hikvision company announced that it together with the Aytiboks system integrator implemented the project on equipping of check-points on objects of Novolipetsk Metallurgical Combine thermovision IP cameras for temperature measurement of employees. Within the project over 50 sets of the equipment were installed (the thermal imager, the PC and the monitor on a protection post).

Every day on objects of NLMK Group, one of the world's largest producers of steel products, several tens of thousands of people in shifts work – it means that check-points work with enormous loading. Due to epidemic of a koronavirusny infection sharply there was a question of prevention of spread of a disease. In such conditions identification of persons with the increased temperature (one of the main symptoms of COVID-19) in the manual mode would demand significant expansion of the state of a security service and huge time expenditure that inevitably would cause violation of the working schedule and led to accumulation of people on a checkpoint. To solve this problem, the management of NLMK Group made the decision to carry out equipment of check-points by the high-precision thermovision Hikvision DS-2TD1217B IP cameras for temperature measurement of employees in completely automatic mode, with a high accuracy (±0.5 °C) and speed (less than 0.2 seconds on measurement up to 30 people in a frame).

We began to work with customers from industry at the very beginning of the pandemic period. The plants, factories extracting and processing enterprises were one of the first who began to buy and set actively thermovision solutions for temperature measurement of employees on checkpoints. It is quite explainable: one person with a symptom can become a cause of illness of all working crew or even change, and possible losses from a stop of a production line are much higher, than investments into security systems. Moreover, the thermovision systems for temperature measurement are not the one-time solution. On some objects of NLMK Group thermal imaging cameras needed to be mounted in premises with very high ceilings that excluded a possibility of installation of equipment without additional fastenings. Because of the big sizes of checkpoints the option of wall mounting was also excluded. Specialists of Aytiboks company integrator provided this situation and made special ceiling brackets using which equipment installation was made. To completely implement the project on all objects of NLMK where a new thermovision system was required, it was possible in two months.

On all objects of NLMK Group we executed the standard list of mounting works and setup of the thermovision equipment for temperature measurement of staff of the enterprise. But, of course, on each checkpoint it was necessary to consider some features – for example, the big sizes of premises, arrangement of points of protection, the direction of the movement of flows of people, etc. This project was interesting to us by the scales: we had to work with geographically distributed objects in different regions of the country, but as a result we managed to solve all assigned tasks. Process of temperature measurement of employees was completely automated. The technological solution of Hikvision company for timely identification of people with the increased temperature allowed to ensure additional safety of personnel and a continual loop of work of the enterprises. Not only the image of all people entering on an object, but also state-of-health data of each person is output to protection point now. In case of identification of the increased value of temperature the personnel pointwise take control measurement and if necessary direct to physical examination.
