The publication got acquainted with the presentation, which says that the tourism IT system will include three main areas:

  • mobile application under iOS and Android with a map of sights, sightseeing routes and an augmented reality module: the user will be able to point the smartphone camera, for example, at historical buildings and see how they looked before;
  • a network of tourist portals of cities with information on excursion routes, guides, historical facts and a map with places of attraction of tourists, which will include restaurants, cafes and hotels;
  • network of street interactive screens. They will display the same information as in the application, plus transport navigation.

As a source at Rosatom told the newspaper, the state corporation expects 2.5 billion rubles of revenue within 10 years after the launch of digital platforms in the tourism sector. Revenues, in particular, are expected from the integration and attraction of local market participants: travel companies, hotels and restaurants.

According to the interlocutors of the publication, Rosatom, due to these projects, wants to first of all begin the phased implementation of elements of the Smart City project. This implies already serious investments, while the IT infrastructure of the tourist project can be sharpened in advance only under the decisions of the state corporation, they say.[1]
