In the Huawei paradigm, the digital community is an intelligent community for which technology is a tool that unites people. That is why the company's leaders spoke in their speeches at the HDCC conference not only about advanced computing and communication technologies, but also about business communications. So, according to Denis Serechenko, director of digital transformation at Huawei Enterprise in the Eurasia region, in terms of creating smart offices, Huawei adheres to a strategy that is based on a single unified platform deployed in the cloud or locally, as well as three types of access endpoints: smart video conferencing (VCC) devices, interactive collaboration boards, and a family of intelligent desktop PCs for a mobile personal office.

This approach is implemented, in particular, in a new product for creating an intelligent working environment for Huawei IdeaHub, which was announced at the conference.

Interactive board

IdeaHub is a next-generation enterprise collaboration solution that includes high definition (HD) VKS, intelligent handwriting recognition, wireless data sharing, and versatile office applications. When playing a video, we want the image to be bright and smooth. And when showing presentations, we need all the texts to be clearly visible, even if they are prepared in a very small font, "says Denis Serechenko.

IdeaHub can identify the displayed content and automatically switch the screen mode, adjusting brightness, clarity, saturation and sharpness to achieve the best effect, "emphasizes Denis Serechenko.

Technical implementation

The IdeaHub product is implemented on the basis of a two-chip architecture: one 4-core processor with a frequency of 1.5 GHz, the second 4-core processor with a frequency of 1.8 GHz, 12 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM memory. The Dual-System-on-a-Chip architecture combines independent graphics computing, the implementation of artificial intelligence algorithms, as well as audio and video codecs. I. IdeaHub has a built-in hardware video conferencing codec with support for the modern H.265 protocol and communication in 1080p quality. The architectural solution implemented in the IdeaHub provides high processing power for top-level applications.

Another significant difference IdeaHub from competitors is the support of two modes of operation: from the cloud and on-premise.

Video camera capabilities

The IdeaHub product is equipped with a professional 4K video camera with a precision of 1800 TVL (television lines - a parameter that characterizes the number of vertical lines, that is, visible brightness transitions in a frame). Its sensor uses next-generation image processing technology to reduce noise and increase image sharpness.

The IdeaHub camera can capture 4K video at a frequency of 30 frames per second with a clarity of 1800 TVL, which allows you to distinguish even human hair on video. This seriously distinguishes IdeaHub from products of other manufacturers, which today mainly use consumer-level cameras for their conference panels. Even their best samples, according to Denis Serechenko, are able to record 4K video with a frequency of only 10 frames per second and with a clarity of up to 1400 TVL. The combination of 4K and H.265 technologies implemented in IdeaHub allows you to achieve high definition and smoothness of video images.

Audio capabilities

Using special algorithms, we can virtualize several microphones and direct each of them towards the sound source, "says Denis Serechenko.

This means that if two people sit next to each other, literally shoulder to shoulder, and one of them begins to speak, then the panel will unmistakably determine which of them speaks and display the image of the talking person on the screen.

In addition to the large sound reception distance, the panel can be very accurately positioned - with an accuracy of literally up to 0.5 degrees. This is the responsibility of the AutoFrame function, which automatically adjusts the camera viewing angle according to the location of the conference room and the number of participants.

Moreover, Huawei IdeaHub has a built-in Acoustic Baffle feature that allows you to cut off noises that are not needed in a video conference, for example, an opened door to the meeting room with a request to leave one of the participants, this information is needed by the participants in the meeting room, but the remote side that will not hear it is not needed.

Collaboration

The intelligent handwriting recognition capabilities of IdeaHub enable remote teams to communicate easily by applying handwritten messages to the screen. In this case, the pages on the screen can be flipped in one move. A single touch is also enough to share information from a laptop or phone.

It's the word "simplicity." Simplicity in everything from an intuitive, flexible interactive board interface. I can easily change the writing style and even the text of the letter when I write on the board. Because take and save it all in an interactive board. Then erase, literally with one movement of the hand, and if something important is erased, then in one movement open the erased information again.

The board also supports a number of accessibility options for drawing, highlighting areas, etc. It can be adjusted to almost any requirements, say Huawei.

It is often convenient to use a mobile phone in order to show something to the interlocutors. With IdeaHub, this can be done very easily by running the corresponding application.
