2020: The announcement of OER-Elite - the system of disinfection of endoscopes

In the middle of October, 2020 the Olympus company released OER-Elite - an automated system for cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes. Processing of endoscopes after use is extremely important for security of patients, and post-marketing researches of disinfection of endoscopes show that automation increases efficiency of this process.

OER-Elite at the same time cleans and disinfects to two endoscopes in 28 minutes. High-quality disinfection is reached using a dezsredstvo on the basis of peruksusny Acecide-C acid. A system also assumes a cleaning cycle using a combination of the alkaline EndoQuick detergent and ultrasonic cleaning. Researches show that this combination is most efficiently removals of foreign materials from the surface of the endoscope.

Olympus provided the equipment for cleaning and disinfection of OER-Elite endoscopes

OER-Elite is compatible to Olympus endoscopes, including to the new TJF-Q190V duodenoscope. Connection of endoscopes to the new system of disinfection becomes simpler using the color coding, automatic monitoring and the step-by-step illustrated instructions displayed on the user interface. Loading of endoscopes became simpler thanks to the big pool which became wider and deeper, than at the predecessor.

The special cycle of deactivation reduces housekeeping overheads of endoscopes and eliminates need of manual soaking. At the same time on the touch LCD screen detailed instructions on navigation and search and fault recovery which help the user at emergence of leaks or other problems are displayed. And thanks to a convenient window with reflection of the minimum recommended fillability it will be simpler to workers to check disinfectant level.

Medical societies are recognized and recommend use of automated systems of disinfection of endoscopes.^[1]
