2020: Creation of the computer

In the middle of October, 2020 it became known of creation in Russia of the first-ever neurochemical computer. It was developed by scientists of the Center of nonlinear chemistry of BFU of Kant, they worked on technology several years, the press service of the university reports.

According to scientists, the principle of operation of the device is similar to functioning of neuronets. They are responsible for formation of neurons at in a brain. Chemical reaction of Belousov-Zhabotinsky is the cornerstone.

The Center of nonlinear chemistry of BFU of I. Kant created the first-ever neurochemical computer. Scientists worked on the embodiment of the idea several years

The main feature of the new device — its speed. Experts assure that it 10 times more normal. Besides, to new development viruses are not terrible, and that is even more impressive, it does not need electricity.

According to the head of the Center of nonlinear chemistry of BFU professor Vladimir Vanaga, based on testing of all main units of the chemical neurocomputer the general concept of its work according to which the behavior of the chemical neurocomputer should remind reasonable behavior of live organisms was developed.

Vanag noted that the experimental embodiment of the theoretical concept of the chemical neurocomputer in the real microdevice was the purpose of work. And these objectives were achieved.[1]

Now we have the first-ever chemical neurocomputer with adaptive behavior. Perhaps, it would be more correct to call this device a chemical brain, but not the computer. Perspectives of use of such chemical neurocomputers can be fantastic some of which can even frighten. Imagine hordes small (about a millimeter in the diameter) reasonable bugs which can move and make purposeful actions, for example, in search of food. However the so-called practical importance is defined by financing and specific purposes, but not scientific problems of self-organization — the scientist explained.
