2020: Linux perf GUI (Hotspot) with a disassembler

On October 16, 2020 Avtomatika concern State Corporation Rostec announced upgrade cross-platform programs- Linux the profiler perf GUI (Hotspot). The free product is open source intended for testing of software performance. The solution will allow to increase software performance for processors Intel and mobile processors ARM.

Hotspot concerns cross-platform profilers who can work with several software platforms and operating systems. Linux perf GUI (Hotspot) supports such software platforms as ARMv7, ARMv8 and x86_64.

The main objectives of Linux Perf GUI (Hotspot) are search of "hot sections", potentially "bottlenecks" and distribution of events in functions of the application of the analyzed programs. The profiler has the user interface where information in tabular, text and other formats is output. Data on the analyzed programs are issued with high extent of detailing. Important advantage of the updated profiler - a disassembler - the translator transforming machine code to a programming language of the low level that is important in the analysis of initial programs.

Within completion the rich user interface allowing developers to carry out effectively performance review to within a line in the code was created (instructions in the assembler). This functionality does a product demanded in circles of software developers.

The Novosibirsk institute of program systems", entering into Avtomatika Concern, has competences on design and development of complex program systems. This program is intended for the solution of project tasks of the state and business companies and also development teams of software which need the profiler with a certain set of characteristics, such as cross-platform and existence of a disassembler - the translator transforming machine code to a programming language of the low level. Also the Avtomatika Concern conducts works on further development of Linux perf GUI (Hotspot) based on domestic architecture Elbrus. Further expansion of functionality of the profiler is planned.
