Surgutneftegazbank (Oracle Financial Services Applications (OFSA))

The project of Surgutneftegazbank and RDTECH company on creation of decision making support system based on Oracle Financial Services Applications (OFSA) began summer of 2005 and came to the end two and a half years later. According to specialists of Oracle, it became the largest "in the class" in Russia. Tell the following digits about scales: daily 5 Gbytes of data, number of business users — 100 are loaded into storage, system operation is supported by three administrators. Implementation gave an opportunity for accomplishment of daily automatic mailing of reports to the management of bank.

As the vice chairman of the board of Surgutneftegazbank King Andrey who is directly supervising the project explained, desire to automate preparation of reports and to exempt banking operational systems from reporting functions unusual for them became incentive motive to creation of a system. The data warehouse with the system of loading and several subsystems, including budgetings, supports of financial risk management, automatic preparation of different types of the reporting was created. At project implementation special attention was paid to architecture of security, first of all separation of powers in data access and to restriction of opportunities for change of data which exist if for analytics spreadsheets are used. As a result of implementation it was succeeded to raise considerably accuracy of the information that allowed to make more exact management decisions and to lift economic indicators of activity of financial institution.

On the basis of technologies of Oracle specialists RDTECH construct classical by the principles, but specialized on a scope, the system of a business intelligence. In it the ready OFSA components are used: the central storage Financial Data Manager allowing to create both the internal, and external reporting, the tool of the analysis of profitability Profitability Manager, the instrument of calculation of the prices Transfer Pricing, support system of asset management and financial risks of Risk Manager and a budgeting system and planning Budgeting&Planning. In addition to them localization demanded turning on of the modules "Reporting of the Central Bank" and "Reporting of IFRS" created by RDTECH company on the basis of OFSA. As the deputy CEO RDTECH Kunitsky Igor noted, the project success was promoted by the fact that the management of Surgutneftegazbank understood the requirements and could formulate them.
