2020: The announcement of ProCuity - a smart hospital bed
At the end of October, 2020 the Stryker company provided a smart hospital bed of ProCuity with wireless connection to the system of a call of the nurse. The smart bed should increase efficiency and safety of hospital leaving with simultaneous cost reduction.
Among other things the smart bed should reduce the number of falling of patients with different visual acuity and also increase efficiency of nursing leaving. According to poll of Stryker company, 97% of nurses came up against a situation when the patient could not get up from a hospital bed to cause the help, and 75% of nurses announced injuries which patients got in attempt to be roused.
In the press release Stryker reported that ProCuity is the only hospital bed, available in the market, with wireless connection to the system of a call of nurses. It is supposed that such access will reduce risk of injuries at patients. Height of a bed of ProCuity is only 11.5 inches (30 cm), and its ergonomic design helps nurses to provide safe care and to reduce injury probability when falling. The bed is also supplied with the system of positioning of the patient, ergonomic side hand-rail and signaling.
Completely wireless connection of a bed to a post of the nurse solves the problems connected with safe carrying out cables. Besides, ProCuity is supplied with the touch screen and other intuitive manipulators which simplify work of the nurse and increase satisfaction of the patient.
