2020: The announcement of Microsoft Lobe - the tool for a training of models of machine learning

At the end of October, 2020 Microsoft released the free Lobe tool intended for a training of models of machine learning which can be used afterwards with third-party software. Lobe completely excludes the need for writing of the code.

The Lobe tool in the beta is available to installation on the PC or the notebook running operating systems Windows and macOS. According to Microsoft, even users who have no skills of programming can test Lobe. For a training of models of machine learning it is only enough to load necessary files, Lobe can execute from scratch the necessary processes approximately in 10 minutes.

Training of models of machine learning using Lobe

Microsoft explains that "Lobe automatically selects the correct architecture of machine learning and begins training without any setup or a configuration". Users can estimate advantages or shortcomings of the provided model using visual results in real time, there are opportunities to make changes to model for performance improvement. After completion of work with Lobe users can export (for example, using CoreML or TensorFlow) the models to different standard industry formats for further use on the necessary platforms or in applications. Also support of export of results to a cloud is implemented (Microsoft Azure Amazon Web Services Google Cloud).

Founders of Lobe gave several possible options of use of the tool. With its help it is possible to train the models of machine learning intended for the analysis of aerial photographs, photos of animals, plants, recognition of masks on persons of people, determinations of gestures and emotions, identifications of smoke and fire and also for use with smart radio nurses.

Among the first users of Lobe there is a The Nature Conservancy company which uses development from Microsoft for observation and protection of fauna of the Caribbean Sea.[1]
