2020: Start of service of a non-cash tip
Mir payment system and provided to PSB service of non-cash transfer of a tip on personal bank cards the staff of cafe and restaurants. On October 29, 2020 reported about it NATIONAL PAYMENT CARD SYSTEM. For October, 2020 this service will be available to the owners of institutions who are on acquiring service PSB. The producer POS terminals Ingenico and four Moscow restaurants participate in the project at a stage of start Ginza Project.
At payment of account the guest of cafe or restaurant can independently enter on the POS terminal the amount of a tip which he would like to leave for service, within 20% of order cost and to pay the total amount as normal bank card transaction. The service does not demand from the owner of restaurant of installation of the additional hardware, and the client can pay the bill and transfer money to the waiter for one transaction by method, usual for it, – the card or the smartphone.
The general amount of the received tip at the end of the day is transfered to the personal card of the waiter which number was previously tied to the POS terminal of trade and service company. For October, 2020 PSB once at the end of the day less the commission in the amount of 5% on bank cards of international payment systems credits the total amount of the received tip. When receiving a tip on the World cards special conditions are provided for the staff of restaurant: money transfer is executed without collection of the commission, and transfer of a tip happens four times a day. Since December, 2020, employees of institutions will be able to earn a reward on the World cards right after transfer of a tip by the guest.
Tip – one of those spheres where cash still remains the most common form of calculation, even when the key account is paid by the card. According to us, a tip cash is left by 97% of Russians. Certainly, it is very inconvenient for many as the habit to carry with itself paper money gradually dies off. We are glad that could propose to the market the technological solution which will allow to make payment process of a tip convenient both for the client, and for the employee of restaurant, and for the restaurant or cafe. Software to our estimates the share of operations with cards in restaurants and cafe reaches 80%, at the same time many visitors often have at themselves no cash to thank personnel of an institution for good service. The service of an electronic tip offered the market is intended to increase quality and convenience of service of guests of institutions and also gives them other opportunities to thank the staff of cafe and restaurants for their work, - Nikita Homutov, the associate director of department of electronic business of PSB noted. - We are going to develop our project and to attract in it increasing number of the companies of the sphere of trade and services, including from the industry of beauty and hotel business where service of a non-cash tip will also be popular. |
In process of evolution of consumer behavior and the growing popularity of cashless payments, the request for a convenient method of implementation of a tip when using the bank card becomes more and more relevant both for restaurants, and for guests.
