Rosatom will construct the center of radio nuclide therapy in Obninsk for 1.7 billion rubles

As it became known on November 9, 2020, Rusatom Healthcare (integrator in the field of radiation technologies for medicine and the industry in a circuit of Rosatom state corporation) will be engaged in construction of the center of radio nuclide therapy in Obninsk.

The project is estimated at 1.7 billion rubles from which the company will spend 1 billion for construction, 450 million – on equipment procurement, more than 250 million will leave on operating expenses (salaries, the maintenance of an object, taxes).

Rusatom Healthcare leases for 15 years the land plot of 1.32 hectares in Obninsk, reconstructs the unused building of a special laundry (in the main territory of MRNTs) and will construct there in the next four years the center of radio nuclide therapy. Power of the center – 5.45 thousand out-patient visits and 5 thousand cases of rendering the stationary help a year.

The lion share of expenses — more than 80% — are going to compensate within 15 years due to rendering hi-tech medical care and medical tourism from other states. And 15% are receipts on compulsory health insurance and from a business activity.^[1]

Commissioning of the object is scheduled for the beginning of 2024. The new center of radio nuclide therapy will represent two body (out-patient clinic and a hospital on 40 beds) with a total area nearly 8.5 thousand square meters. In the center 130 additional jobs will be created, and the amount of its annual tax deductions of budgets of different levels will be 1.5 billion rubles. The concession contract with the state is signed for 15 years, during this time the company should refund the expenses.

Besides, in Rosatom intend to direct 18 billion rubles to creation and development of the innovation scientific and technology center "Park of Atomic and Medical Technologies" in Obninsk. The park will include the plant on production of radiopharmaceuticals, the center of nuclear science and technologies, the multifunction center of processing and sterilization of medical products, the modification of materials ionizing processings of agricultural and food products.^[2]
