2020: Representation of the gateways Ixxat Smart Grid
Provided to HMS Industrial Networks AB the gateways Ixxat Smart Grid with support of LTE for work with the IEC 61850 and IEC 60870 protocols. It became known on November 11, 2020.
The gateways Ixxat SG provide communication between industrial automatic equipment and power networks.
Among them — models with modem 4G/LTE for mobile communication and 4 ports for connection of Ethernet devices.
The gateways Ixxat SG are used at automation of the energy sector, for example on power plants and large installations of power consumers for upgrade systems and digitalization of substations. The gateways SG perform several functions: they connect managing networks with devices of industrial automation, provide remote access also serve as gateways for different protocols, keeping development of systems industrial Internet of Things.
The gateways Ixxat SG are equipped with the built-in modem 4G and support a number of protocols for easy digitalization of the small distribution stations which are on a distance. Connection 4G CAT1 provides the transmission rate of 10 Mbps downstream and 5 Mbps upstream with low value of a delay, a big coverage of network and universal channel of data exchange independent of Ethernet, DSL or optical fibers.
Communication 4G can be used as the main or alternative communication link. Using wireless communication, it is possible to transfer data on all supported protocols on the basis of IP, including IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, MQTT and OPC-UA. Modem 4G can be used and as the independent communication channel to provide rectilinear implementation of diagnostic and remote service and notifications (the SMS or MQTT).
In addition to the version with 4G, models of the gateways Ixxat SG with four ports for reliable 1/2 connections of networks via several independent interfaces at the level of data are available now. As a result data exchange between networks of automation of power supply systems and the industrial Ethernet systems (such as PROFINET or EtherNet/IP) and connection with the systems of Internet of Things and cloud applicaions becomes simpler. Each network segment is connected separately and can exchange data with other segments. Thanks to the safety features which are built in gateways, including the firewall, it is possible to create and service a system which it will be considerable more reliable and protected from unauthorized access, than when using normal combinations of the gateway and switch.
