Malignant diseases of a reproductive system

Malignant diseases of a reproductive systemthe breast cancer (BC), the ovarian cancer (OC) and the prostate cancer (PC) – are a significant medical and social problem in a type of high rates of incidence and death rate.

Main article: Cancer (oncological diseases)

Genetic conditionality of diseases

Malignant diseases of a reproductive system can be genetically caused and connected with mutations in genes BRCA1, BRCA2 and other genes which can be descended.

"Genes of BRCA1 and BRCA2 are responsible for regular recovery of our DNA when in it there are critical damages under the influence of different factors of the environment. However if these genes do not work properly, then in DNA changes which can provoke uncontrolled cell fission gradually collect and start oncological process. Knowledge of existence of a mutation in certain genes considerably increases chances that the disease will manage to be detected at an early stage. For this reason relatives of patients at whom RMZh, RYa and RPZh were revealed should show consideration for the health especially. It should be noted that for oncological patients since 2020 testing for mutations in genes of BRCA1 and BRCA2 is included in the program of the state guarantees of free delivery of health care to citizens of the Russian Federation within the compulsory health insurance basic program", – Irina Anatolyevna Demidova, PhDs in Medicine., the manager of molecular and biological laboratory of the Moscow city oncological hospital No. 62 of the Moscow Department of Healthcare said in November, 2020.

Determination of genetic predisposition to development of cancer helps to hold preventive events and to reveal a disease at early stages when treatment is most effective. Detection of mutations in genes of BRCA1 and BRCA2 allows to choose correctly personalized treatment for those patients at whom the oncological disease already arose. Understanding of biology of a tumor and interpretation of human genome led to cardinal change of approaches to therapy of genetically caused types of cancer therefore it is extremely important that Russians knew about an opportunity to pass such molecular and genetic test and understood its importance.
