One of producers of elevators in Russia developed the Shcherbinsky Liftostroitelny Plant (SLP) and tested the system of disinfection of cabins allowing to secure up to 98% of surfaces against infections. In the nearest future to Dunn development is going to be put in production, the Department of investment and industrial policy of the city of Moscow reported about it on November 17, 2020 according to the head Alexander Prokhorov.

Means of disinfection of a cabin of the elevator are the single LED radiators of bactericidal ultraviolet providing air purification and surfaces. The construction feature is that a system is built in a cabin, but is not mounted as a separate element. It will allow to synchronize start of a system of disinfecting with elevator sensors: disinfection will be carried out only at the guaranteed absence in passengers. When opening doors and in the presence of passengers a system is switched off, and the elevator operates normally.

From January to September, 2020 the capital enterprises produced 12.7 thousand elevators, and it more than on a quarter exceeds indicators of the same period of 2019. In the conditions of a pandemic steel producers to pay special attention to questions of observance of more strict sanitary and epidemiologic requirements. At the same time they not just corrected under them own production processes, but also develop solutions which allow to make safer further operation of products. The system of disinfection of elevators developed by ShchLZ – one of such products, it already underwent testing by specialists and is ready to mass production, - the head of department told.

He added that to development there is already an interest from builders.

An inspection was carried out in Dezinfektologiya's scientific research institute of Rospotrebnadzor where the standard cabin of the elevator with the built-in system of the disinfection developed by engineers of ShchLZ was mounted. Efficiency analysis of a system included several stages: infection, disinfection and assessment of the disinfected space on presence of viruses.

Staff of scientific research institute applied on an elevator cabin surface microorganisms which strains have resistance, comparable with COVID-19 virus, to means of disinfecting. After system operation checked a cabin for existence of bacteria.

Development of this technology is especially relevant in the conditions of growth of incidence of a coronavirus. Thanks to cooperation with scientific research institute it was succeeded to receive objective result, for November, 2020 the staff of ShchLZ is engaged in optimization of cost value and in the nearest future will be ready to put elevators with the system of disinfecting in serial production, – the CEO of the Shcherbinsky liftostroitelny plant Anton Artemyev told.

Ultra-violet irradiators will turn on in the least intensive intervals of operation of the elevator. So, at night duration of disinfection will be 1 hour that provides almost complete sterility of a cabin. Information on system operation will be displayed on the small screen located in the elevator. It will allow to make diagnostics and repairs in short terms. For November, 2020 engineers of ShchLZ study influence of bactericidal ultraviolet on the cabins used in construction materials and coverings to avoid the problems connected with their operation.

ShchLZ also started design of a separate system for old cabins and elevators of other producers with full save of functionality on disinfection of air and surfaces.
