Tele2 signed the agreement on construction of two DPCs in the Rostov region for 2 billion rubles

On November 18, 2020 Tele2 announced the conclusion with the government of the Rostov region agreements on cooperation within which in the region two data centers will be constructed. Total investments into new DPCs on 216 and 540 stoykomest make nearly 2 billion rubles.

By November 18, 2020 Tele2 already completed the construction of the first data processing center and performed the main part of works on creation of the second. On new platforms the equipment for all IT systems of the operator, including billing and VAS is placed. Objects occupy the territory with a total area more than 820 sq.m and 3 thousand quarter respectively and involve the equipment with power up to 4.995 MW.

Under the terms of the agreement, the government of the Rostov region can provide to Tele2 state support during the project and connection of DPCs to technical networks of the region. In turn, Tele2 provides construction implementation, creates jobs and guarantees the due salary level for the employees occupied in work of DPCs.

In Tele2 noted that construction of new DPCs in the Rostov region is connected with the active growth of business of the company, need of increase in power and increase in fault tolerance of IT infrastructure of operators. The new project should contribute to technology development of the region – to digitalization of services and processes, increase in availability of telecom services to the population and creation of IT infrastructure for the smart city, the industry, power and agriculture.

Start of the new centers will allow to strengthen technical infrastructure of the company, to create additional resources for automation and optimization of services. Energy amplification of information systems Tele2 will help to cope with the raised loads of billing and a management system of network more effectively — the director of operations of Tele2 Dmitry Lopatukhin said.[1]
