2021: Launch of Hamburger Buns Factory

Co-owner of Chocolate Girl and Russian Burger King Alexander Kolobov launched a plant for the production of buns for Hippel hamburgers. The volume of investments in the project is 1.5 billion rubles. About this June 23, 2021 writes "Kommersant" with reference to the representative of Burger King.

According to him, in 2021 the restaurant chain intends to purchase about 150 million products from the Gipfel factory. Alexander Kolobov in a conversation with the publication noted that the plant eliminates the risk of currency fluctuations, and the capacity of Gipfel will completely close the needs of Burger King in Russia.

The general director of the enterprise Ilya Chernomzav added that the main consumers of buns will be restaurants of the fast food chain, they also intend to sell products in retail chains.

The capacity of the plant is 48,000 buns per hour, it can be increased to 72,000 buns per hour, and the range is expanded. Yury Katznelson, President of the Russian Guild of Bakers and Confectioners (ROSPiK), explained to Kommersant that by June 2021, the Gipfel assortment for Burger King is presented, in fact, with chilled semi-finished products, primarily suitable for the needs of one restaurant chain.

According to Katznelson, in retail in the world, such products account for 5-10% of all consumption of bakery products, special flour of a certain quality is needed, and it can be difficult to supply semi-finished products over long distances.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, by June 23, 2021 Kolobov owns 90% of the Gipfel company, the rest is owned by CEO Ilya Chernomzav. According to its own data, Burger King operates about 700 restaurants in Russia. The Cypriot Burger King Russia Ltd owns Xomeric Holdings Ltd. It is associated with the Ukrainian group ICU, close to Kolobov Gladerom Investment Ltd, owned by VTB LLC Shushary Land, as well as Burger King Europe GmbH.[1]
