To cows in Belarus began to put on the working 5 years without recharge IoT-collars for control of health of the cattle

Customers: Seltsa

Agriculture and fishery

Contractors: MTS Belorus, AOTOSO
Product: MTS of NB-IoT

Project date: 2020/11

At the end of November, 2020 MTS announced start of a management system for a dairy farm using technology of Internet of Things in Belarus. The project is started on agricultural enterprise of Seltsa in Gluboksky district of the Vitebsk region.

The solution of MTS includes a smart collar with the built-in IoT-sensor and special software. Data are transmitted through NB-IoT network. A system allows to define remotely in real time the most optimal time of an estrus at cows and to control a rumination — the chewing process showing the state of health of an animal. IoT-modules of smart collars can work more than five years from one battery.

The data obtained from sensors of smart collars are stored in a cloud service of MTS of Cloud and are available to personnel on any device via the web browser. Data visualization on activity and a rumination is performed in a schedule type.

The solution for agriculture on the basis of NB-IoT technology is developed together with the Chinese company AOTOSO. Such smart collars for animals use hundreds of "smart" dairy farms of China. Besides, similar experience is implemented on farms of Great Britain, Russia, the Czech Republic, the USA, etc.

Information obtained using smart collars gives the chance to increase economic return from each unit of cattle. Besides, it is used for condition monitoring of health of herd. In general, this solution optimizes work of staff of the agricultural enterprises — the director of agricultural enterprise of Seltsa Iosif Leshkevich whose words are cited in the press release reported.
