2020: The announcement of Homechoice Claria - the system of peritoneal dialysis for the house

At the end of November, 2020 the Baxter company submitted the new version of the automated system of peritoneal dialysis intended for home use. A system can be connected to the digital platform which is designed to help doctors to control treatment of the patients far off.

The Homechoice Claria system is intended both for adults, and for children. The system interface is available in 38 languages and contains step-by-step voice instructions which can be started on the smartphone through the enclosed application. At the same time the Sharesource platform of Baxter company which was already used for carrying out more than 20 million procedures of peritoneal dialysis worldwide provides necessary data to doctors and notifies them if during treatment there are any problems.

Sharesource is also connected to the Baxter models with the touch screen which are on sale as the device for automatic peritoneal dialysis of Amia in the USA and Canada and as the Kaguya system in Japan.

Our purpose still consists in helping patients to get access to house therapy with a renal failure, - the general manager of division of Baxter on treatment of kidneys in the USA Gavin Campbell explained. - Homechoice Claria together with the Sharesource platform will allow to use widely dialysis at home as they combine advantages of automatic system of peritoneal dialysis and idle time, the intuitive interface.

The Homechoice Claria system turned out to be consequence at once of several digital initiatives of Baxter company which were directed to optimization of treatment of kidneys. In particular, in 2019 Baxter started the free application for the CKD&Me smartphones which provides to the patient given about the course of a chronic disease of kidneys, and in August, 2020 the company opened virtual academy of peritoneal dialysis for nurses of the USA.[1]
