On November 27, 2020 Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) announced the conclusion with the pharmaceutical company Hetero of the contract for annual production of 100 million doses of the vaccine against a coronavirus COVID-19 "Satellite V" century India.
It is said in the statement of RDIF that the parties are going to start production of vaccine at the beginning of 2021. Hetero said that "with impatience expect results of clinical trials of vaccine" and consider that its production in India will be crucial for fast receiving medicine by the population of the country.
Satellite V" should become an important part of a national portfolio of vaccines of each country which aims to protect the population from a coronavirus. Thanks to partnership with Hetero production capacities for production of vaccine will be significantly increased that will give the chance to provide the population of India with effective medicine in the period of a pandemic — the CEO of RDIF Kirill Dmitriyev said. |
Hetero has 36 manufacturing enterprises worldwide. The portfolio of the company includes more than 300 products covering the main therapeutic categories, such as HIV/AIDS, oncology, cardiovascular diseases, neurology, hepatitis, nephrology, urology, diabetes, ophthalmology, hepatology and immunology, etc.
By the end of November, 2020 in India phase II-III of clinical trials of the Russian vaccine is carried out. After receiving approval of regulators in India RDIF stated what to the country will be delivered to 100 million doses of vaccine — about it and carrying out researches the agreement with other Indian company - Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd (Dr. Reddy’s) was reached.
The third phase of clinical trials of the vaccine "Sputnik of V" by the end of November, 2020 is also carried out in Belarus, the UAE, Venezuela and some other countries, noted in RDIF.[1]
