2020: Suspension of construction of the Elista water reservoir

Construction of the Elista water reservoir in Gashun-Sal's beam which lasts eight years was suspended at the beginning of 2020. On November 25, 2020 reported about it in Administration of the Governor of Kalmykia. The source for the Elista water reservoir accepts Gashunsky distribution channel Chernozemelskoy of OOS which is in turn fed with the Chograysky water reservoir. Low consumer water quality of the Chograysky water reservoir is an obstacle and for the construction project Elista.

The question of construction of a water reservoir was considered at meetings of the interdepartmental working group under the leadership of the head of the Federal Agency for Water Resources (FAWR) Dmitry Kirillov and the Governor of Kalmykia to Bat of Hasikov. According to the Head of the republic it is possible to continue construction of a water reservoir only after holding complex actions for reconstruction of the Chograysky reservoir and the Levokumsky water-engineering system, otherwise considerable financial resources will be used for nothing.

According to the proposal to Bat of Hasikov the matter was considered on Public council of Federal Agency for Water Resources, and its position is supported by FAVR. For November, 2020 there is a task as much as possible to accelerate and synchronize works on reconstruction of the Chograysky water reservoir and the Levokumsky water-engineering system.

On an object a number of the shortcomings connected with difficult cycles of execution of works, involving rise in price, significant increase in terms of construction of the facility and high operating costs was revealed.

The design estimates on reconstruction of a dam of a water reservoir which for the end of November, 2020 undergoes state examination are already developed.
