In 9 cities of the Stavropol Territory there are 132 smart video cameras installed as part of the Smart City project, which began to be implemented in the Stavropol Territory in 2020, a regional analytical center reported on April 2, 2021.

Thanks to video surveillance in Nevinnomyssk, the number of emergencies decreased to 35%, crime halved, and road accidents decreased by a quarter.

It is planned that the participating cities will increase the number of smart video surveillance cameras to 800 by 2024. They will be installed at busy intersections, squares and other places of mass crowding.^[1]

2020: Intelligent Transport System Implementation Plans

The introduction of an intelligent transport system in Stavropol is planned for three years. This became known on November 26, 2020. The project will help optimize the system of street and road networks of the regional capital, as well as reduce the cost of maintaining transport infrastructure.

The project is designed for 3 years and will be implemented in several stages. The first involves the creation of an automated traffic control system consisting of 80 intelligent video surveillance cameras with a photo and video recording function. Its installation on the roads of the city is planned to be carried out in 2021.

The implementation of ITS will not be limited only to local solutions in the field of transport support for the city. This is a whole set of transformations related to road safety, the work of emergency services, the construction of urban highways and much more. Innovations at each stage should fully function and gradually modernize, "said the mayor of Stavropol, Ivan Ulyanchenko.

The introduction of an intelligent transport system on the roads of the Stavropol Territory will be held as part of the national project "Safe and high-quality roads^[2].
