At the end of November, 2020 it became known of start in MTS network of the first Russian base station with domestic software, completely suitable for commercial operation. It is about solution RBS-100 developed by the Kazan company of Snare.
According to Vedomosti with reference to the representative of MTS Alexey Merkutov, the trial batch of RBS-100 is ready. The project manager of development of the base station in the company of Snare Alexander Alyokhin told the edition that all software of the base station is created by the Russian developers, and component parts (analog parts of the radio highway, a very high frequency amplifiers, frequency branching filters and a payment of the transceiver) — foreign. However in the future, when will appear Russian and "the request of the market and business will arrive", they can be integrated into this equipment, he said.
The family of base stations RBS-100 with technology of communication of LTE of FDD MIMO 2x2 is intended for operation in commercial networks of mobile operators. The equipment is constructed on SDR technology and is compatible to the standard LTE R8.
Base stations are executed in the dust and water tight body (degree of protection – IP65). Bands 5, 10, 15 and 20 MHz are actually used. The equipment can be used in the majority of regions of Russia – temperature of operation is-40 … +40 C.
The equipment consists from:
- the portable DU block with all necessary interfaces intended for functioning of a communication channel;
- internal interface of Z1 required for implementation of the S1-C and S1-U protocols between the main and portable blocks;
- the CU main unit (the software with support to 32 portable blocks), necessary for interaction with a core of the operator of EPC.
The price of the device is not specified, but in MTS noted that at industrial scale productions it will be not more expensive than foreign analogs. The decision on further production will be made after testing of the first commercial station.[1]
