2020: Tender for the purchase of PostgresPro

On December 2, 2020, it became known that Rostelecom allocated almost 257 million rubles. for the purchase of the domestic software product Postgres Pro. The company says that this is not the first experience of using domestic DBMS in it, but this is the largest purchase by the operator of this software.

This amount is billed as the initial maximum contract price in the operator's tender launched on November 30, 2020.

Applications from applicants are accepted until December 8, 2020. The state customer took almost two months to summarize the results. He plans to identify the contractor on February 5, 2020.

According to the presented technical assignment, it is not quite clear exactly how many licenses are planned for purchase. This question in the technical assignment is bypassed. At the beginning of December 2020, Rostelecom could not answer the CNews question about the number of licenses required by the company.

In a conversation with the editors, Ivan Panchenko, Deputy General Developer, Director of Postgres Professional, confirmed that for Rostelecom this will not be the first experience in using Postgres Pro to solve company problems. At the same time, he was not ready to comment on issues related to whether software is purchased for new IT systems, or replaces previously installed products.

In mid-November 2020, the company announced the completion of test tests for compatibility of the operator's hardware and software complex and the Postgres Pro database management system[1].
