2020: Start of Android Enterprise Essentials - a management system for smartphones in the small companies
At the beginning of December, 2020 Google presented a new solution for mobile device management and security of Android Enterprise Essentials which is intended for small and medium business.
The new service includes bases of mobile device management which allow small enterprises to demand from the employees of use of blocking and enciphering for data protection of the company. Android Enterprise Essentials also does not allow users to install applications outside Google Play Store and allows the enterprises to erase far off all data of the company from the lost or stolen phones.
As explains Google, the small companies often process data of clients on mobile devices, but modern solutions for remote control such systems are too difficult and expensive to owners of small business. Android Enterprise Essentials simplifies the general process of setup, eliminating need to manually activate each device. And as security policies are applied far off, employees do not need to configure anything on the phones. The company will only need to purchase the configured Android devices from the reseller to distribute to employees.
Google also notes that this solution can be used also by larger organizations which want to expand basic means of protecting. The new service can also help the companies which hardly began to be engaged in security of the mobile devices. Over time they will be able to pass to more difficult solutions, including of third-party suppliers.
Google reported that it at first will start Android Enterprise Essentials through Synnex in the USA and Tech Data in Great Britain. Since the beginning of 2021 service will begin to be extended through additional distributors worldwide.[1]
