2020: Tests of industrial exoskeletons

On December 4, 2020 the Metalloinvest company announced TAdviser that on Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works entering into it passed tests of industrial exoskeletons of development of the Southwest state university of the city of Kursk. The project is implemented jointly with specialists of Innovation laboratory of Metalloinvest.

On Lebedinsky GOKE tested industrial exoskeletons

Industrial exoskeletons serve for simplification and simplification of heavy physical activity. They increase force of muscles of the person and expand amplitude of movements for the account of an external framework and the bringing parts thanks to what the efficiency of the performed work many times increases.

Technical innovation was tested in actual practice by productions – on the equipment of factory of pelletizing which is under repair. Daily on this section specialists of repair services mount 24 rollers on calcination carts. The weight of everyone – from 47 to 58 kilograms. In a month service nearly 100 carts here, and the total weight of the load moved manually reaches 120 tons. An exoskeleton, assuming up to 90% of the lifted weight, will allow to facilitate considerably work and to reduce the injuring impact on a backbone and legs of the person.

Two models of exoskeletons took part in tests. ExoHeaver Lowebacker (soft type) helps to move loads up to 30 kilograms and can be applied at accomplishment of load-lifting, warehouse and transport works. Heavier and difficult version – ExoHeaver Active Electric – is expected work with loads up to 60 kilograms. The exoskeleton has own electric power supply system and is controlled with the help of the electromechanical module.

The pilot project on tests of exoskeletons is implemented within the program of transformation of a MRO for the "Technical Development and Engineering" direction. This technology is a front line in the field of mechanization of hard manual labor, decrease in load of the musculoskeletal device, protection of the worker against possible blows and falling. Tests of exoskeletons will continue, each model will be estimated in terms of an ergonomiya, convenience of operation and security,
commented Dmitry Kazantsev, the director of the equipment of Lebedinsky GOKA.
