2020: Release of the platform of cyber security

The Synesis company, the resident Klastera of information technologies of Skolkovo Foundation, issued the platform of cyber security TheWall for multistage protection of web applications against the hacker attacks. The Skolkovo Foundation reported about it on December 7, 2020. The solution provides complex defense against different types of invasions, allows to prevent or stop cracking attempts.

Feature of the platform in its flexibility. TheWall allows to create custom rules of security for protection against the attacks on web applications and detection of invasions at the level of protocols.

The platform provides protection at three levels:

• Firewall of web applications (Web Application Firewall, WAF)
• Intrusion detection and prevention system (IDS/IPS)
• Filter of the network layer (NetFilter)

The complexity of protection provides the principle of echelon defense at which each subsequent layer strengthens previous.

Components protect applications from different types of invasions and at the same time supplement each other within the platform. The intrusion detection system reacts to attempts of the attack at the earliest stages while Web Application Firewall already protects from operation of vulnerabilities. NetFilter allows to block all requests from the specific IP address and to stop the attack.

It is possible to add own native rules of protection written from scratch to the TheWall platform. It allows to secure the application against vulnerabilities of zero day for which there are no protection mechanisms yet quickly. At the same time the custom native rules can be created not only for a firewall, but also for an intrusion detection system that distinguishes TheWall from other products in the market.

The intuitive interface allows to configure easily protection and to work with the arriving threats. For use of the program it is not necessary to take courses or to look for the additional information.

TheWall already works with main products of Synesis. The company also works with the Russian integrators to use the platform in protection of solutions for "the smart city", portals of state services, financial services, large online stores and other products.

We approved a product on ourselves and we are going to implement at the existing clients of Synesis in 5 countries at once. TheWall will protect city video surveillance systems, corporate messengers and networks of IoT-devices.

The hacker attacks can cause a serious loss to web applications - from leakage of confidential data before destruction of infrastructure and business processes, work-related web service. In the conditions of COVID-19 pandemic when communication, work and services intensively go to online, we see the increasing role of solutions in the field of cyber security. We highly appreciate perspectives of implementation of such products as TheWall as the platform provides a comprehensive protection from invasions, allows to prevent or stop cracking attempts, so - to save business and data security of users.

The company intends to develop the platform using artificial intelligence technologies. It will allow a system to study, and afterwards - considerably to reduce the number of false operations and to improve detection of vulnerabilities of zero day. Also developers are going to implement virtual patching that will help to prevent operation of vulnerability without modification of the source code and even quicker to react to the arising threats.

The fault tolerance and scalability of the platform will allow to use it for protection of any high-loaded applications.
