2020: Start of cloud service Azure Government Top Secret
At the beginning of December, 2020 the Microsoft company started the cloud service of Azure Government Top Secret intended for the government organizations which work with data under a signature stamp "top secret". Not only state agencies, but also their suppliers both in the USA, and in other countries can use the solution.
The new cloud platform includes existing in Azure an opportunity, including the function available in solutions Azure Government and Azure Government Secret. According to the portal ZDNet, Microsoft continues to work with the U.S. Government over receiving accreditation for Government Top Secret.
After start of a new solution the quantity of segments of cloud service Microsoft extended to four. Azure is a commercial segment, any enterprises can get access to it. Azure Government is intended for the government organizations, the Azure Government Secret segment is open for the government organizations which work with the documents which are not intended for freeware distribution, and Azure Government Top Secret is open for state agencies which work with data of the increased privacy. Available service functions for each segment are provided on the chart.
As of the beginning of December Microsoft offers in all regions of Azure Government of 137 services at the level of FedRAMP High and 97 services at the IL5 level. The company shared news about completion of construction of regions to Azure Government and also zones of availability to this segment.
Microsoft also announced start of new opportunities for Azure Government Secret among which: Azure Container Instances, Azure Monitor, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Sentinel, Azure Security Center. Support of new features, as expected, will allow to provide the integrated management of threats and to simplify process of collecting, the analysis, data processing of telemetry both in the environment of Azure, and in the local environment.[1]
