2020: Arrest on the case of plunder of 10.5 billion rubles

On December 10, 2020 it became known of arrest of the former co-owner of Gorod bank Vladimir Kvasnyuk on the case of plunder of 10.5 billion rubles. Charge of the waste made by organized group in especially large size (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) is brought to the businessman.

According to Kommersant, Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Kvasnyuk for two months. Also the ex-chairman of the board of Gorod bank Stanislav Kulagin – one more expected defendant in the case was delayed.

The Gorod bank lost the license at the end of 2015, and in several months the Central Bank detected "hole" in the capital of credit institution which made more than 10.5 billion rubles. The Deposit Insurance Agency tries to seize several years this amount from the former management of bank unsuccessfully.

The ex-co-owner of Gorod bank Vladimir Kvasnyuk was arrested on the case of waste of 10.5 billion rubles.

According to the investigation, bankers withdrew money from City through assignment of the credits and sale of all liquid property on the eve of a withdrawal of the banking license. To cover up tracks, organizers of plunder appointed dummy administration in bank and even destroyed the server with all bank documentation.

Besides, to give to these transactions a type legal, and also to complicate possible investigation, organizers of frauds, according to law enforcement authorities, used the whole chain of transactions through the companies under control of them. They were also going to sell the bank, but were not in time.

According to Kommersant, according to law enforcement authorities, were involved in the criminal scheme both the staff of credit institution, and strangers, a part of whom did not understand real intention of organizers. At the same time frame of criminal group, the investigation believes, there was a progressive tense, differed in stability, worked professionally and accurately realized criminal objectives of the leaders.^[1]
