2020: Start of Huawei Health Lab

On December 10, 2020 Huawei announced start of laboratory to create technologies for health. The project under the name Huawei Health Lab is started in the Chinese city of Xian.

It is designed to integrate scientists, engineers and researchers of Huawei for joint work over creation of the innovative technologies and products for sport and tracking of the state of health.

The zone of testing of experimental wearable devices where engineers will carry out more than ten different tests for reliability according to industry standards is provided in laboratories. Only the products which successfully passed test will be brought to the market and will become available to consumers, declared in the company.

Huawei opened laboratory to create technologies for health

For simulation of different scenarios of use of devices, researchers use more than 20 industrial test stands, collecting data which then are used for optimization of the algorithms analyzing quality of accomplishment of exercises and the state of health of the user.

So, for collection of data on the state of health of runners, such as maximum consumption of oxygen, technology of run, heart rate and the number of the calories burned during the training researchers of Huawei Health Lab developed the system of collecting of keyword parameters of run using the racetrack with a possibility of measurement of pressure force of foot on a surface, a cardio-metabolic mask, a belt pulsator and the system of recognition of a pose.

Also in the company noted that when developing the mode of playing golf for the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro smartwatch the important role was played by installation for modeling of this game. At setup of algorithms 2500 data sets received at measurement of parameters of 20,000 blows to a ball were used thanks to what it was succeeded to achieve the high accuracy of the analysis of the equipment of the player.^[1]
