The protocol of intent confirming the conclusion of the partnership was signed at the head office of the National Council for to tourism Qatar Berthold Trenkel, Director of Production of the National Tourism Council of Qatar, and Diego Camberos, Director of Production of Vodafone Qatar. After the introduction of the Vodafone Big Data & Analytics solution, the Qatar National Tourism Council will be able to segment tourist data with a previously inaccessible level of detail and determine which groups of tourists visit Qatar and how they prefer to spend time. Such data will allow the Qatar National Tourism Board to provide adequate support to tourist attractions and service providers who want to diversify and personalize their offers, not only to increase the number of guests, but also to guarantee guests the most positive impressions of visiting the country.

Before the pandemic began, the tourism sector experienced an unprecedented upturn - the country received more than 2 million guests in 2019, and the total estimated financial inflow was 10.4% with an estimated direct cash inflow of 5.2% to Qatar's GDP, not related to the oil industry. The tourism sector has proved its value in diversifying Qatar's economy and building bridges to the world by demonstrating Qatar's rich heritage and culture.
