Accenture and the Indian museum create the virtual AI guide

2020: Creation of the AI guide

The Accenture company and Museum of Fine Arts and photos (private art museum of India) started creation of the digital guide. It became known on December 15, 2020. It will be able to support dialog with visitors on art, having attracted additional interest of public in exposure.

The project is implemented by the innovation division of Accenture Labs within Tech4Good initiative. Creation of the solution based on artificial intelligence technologies focused on interaction with the person in a realistic live conversation is supposed.

One of our purposes – to create such museum culture which will attract the younger generation to all of us is to what to learn at history. A great way for the museums to achieve they are to use interactive technologies which will allow them to learn something new, deriving pleasure from process. Are sure that cooperation of Accenture and museum will allow to make unforgettable impressions at visitors.

The future needs creative persons who can rethink the past and invent something new. Art contributes to the development of width of thinking, helping people to approach the solution of pressing problems. We are glad to cooperation with the museum and an opportunity to use digital instruments for promoting of art at youth.

To make the virtual guide on the museum naturalistic, Accenture used the instruments of imposing of persons and also speech synthesis based on methods of deep learning and generative AI models.

The natural language understanding and sensing technologies of emotions will allow the virtual guide to be sympathetic, expressive, pro-active and flexible as though on his place there was a real person.

The museum of Fine Arts and photos will start the digital version at the end of 2020, and the main physical space will open in 2021. The purpose of the museum – to save and show rich art heritage of India, is more available and more clear to make art different social to groups. In a collection of the museum for December, 2020 there are more than 18,000 works of art dated by the period since the X century till present.

Such digital developments are necessary for Russia, technologies get not only into the business sphere more and more, but also into cultural space. On the one hand, interactive technologies are interesting to visitors of the museums, with another – the museums in recent years strongly moved ahead, and creation of digital guides – their natural development, - Anton Epishev, the head Industry X Accenture in Russia says.

According to him, Accenture in Russia has a big team of experts, also capable to design the digital guide for communication with visitors of the museums.

"Besides, virtual guides are extremely relevant in the conditions of need of observance of rules of social distancing today", - Anton Epishev adds.
