Saft Groupe will deliver power sources for ISS of a name of the academician M.F. Reshetnyov

2020: The agreement on delivery of accumulators

Information Satellite Systems company of a name of the academician M.F. Reshetnyov" (ISS, is a part of Roskosmos State corporation) and the French firm SAFT signed the framework agreement on delivery of highly effective power sources. Roskosmos reported about it on December 28, 2020. The five-year agreement defines delivery conditions of Li-ion rechargeable batteries of the French production for the commercial telecommunication satellites created by ISS company. Power sources for them will be delivered at the fixed prices during all validity period of the document.

In spacecrafts the batteries which proved in the previous projects of Reshetnyovsky firm and also the upgraded power sources with the raised specific energy will be used. Its increase in comparison with the early version is about seven percent.

Use of Li-ion batteries will provide high power characteristics of electric power supply systems of spacecrafts without increase in their weight that will allow to redistribute it for benefit of payload. Power sources of production of SAFT for December, 2020 equip 15 spacecrafts of production of ISS company. Li-ion batteries for them were delivered within earlier signed agreements.
