2021: Announcement of LG Bendable TV

At the beginning of January, 2021 provided to LG Electronics in the run-up to the CES 2021 exhibition the first-ever 48-inch bent OLED TV thickness about paper. The OLED display is equipped with CSO technology (Crystal Sound OLED) which allows to reproduce a sound without use of additional loudspeakers.

As the producer claims, 48-inch Bendable the CSO display uses all advantages of OLED as thin as paper the screen is capable to be bent and be deployed with a radius of curvature up to 1000R that means that it can be bent to the radius of 1000 mm, without influencing operation of the display.

The user can transform innovation to the flat screen during viewing the TV and use as the curved screen during the games. The curved display provides identical distance of viewing from the middle of the screen to its edges at the expense of what the user can expect the maximum visual immersion that is especially necessary in the geyming industry.

The new panel has fast response time of 0.1 ms, update rate of 120 Hz and support of VRR (40–120 Hz). Use of CSO technology turns an OLED panel into the loudspeaker, in the same way as Acoustic Surface technology which Sony uses in the OLED TVs. In it the thin activator (the size is reduced from 9 mm to 0.6 mm) is used, at the expense of what the sound is made directly from the screen, at the same time vibrations are imperceptible for an eye.
