2021: The announcement of Diagnovir - the device for identification of COVID-19
At the beginning of January, 2021 Bilkent University provided the device for fast diagnosis of a coronavirus of COVID-19. The device under the name Diagnovir reveals SARS-CoV-2 in saliva samples on average in 10 seconds with an accuracy of 99%, developers claim. The product is created as a result of cooperation of Bilkent holding and technology company EA Teknoloji.
Biological liquid is mixed with special substance, and the device reveals a virus using the biosensor through "dynamic acceptance of a fluorescent signal".
According to the scientist from the National research center of nanotechnologies (UNAM) Ali Aytak Seyman, the positive result can be received within 5-10 seconds. However if the result is negative, then it will become known in 20 seconds.
The technology which is applied in the device is developed by the Turkish specialists in seven months and is capable to work in the future not only with SARS-CoV-2, but also with other pathogens.

They emphasized that in terms of sampling a system seems more preferably, than dabs from a rotoglotka and a nasopharynx. Also unlike the PTsR tests work of Diagnovir is based not on replication of samples, and on detection of existence or absence of viruses using high-precision optical methods, declared in university.
The infrastructure and documentation necessary to start mass production of the device prepares for the beginning of January, 2021. Developers of a product promise to let out him on the commercial market in the nearest future, however do not call specific terms, as well as the cost of this device for detection of a coronavirus.[1]
