Situation
Due to the decision on deadlines of entry into the market accepted by Smart Value Retail company, the following requirements were set:
- the offered business solution should correspond optimum to tasks of the company of building of business processes
- implementation time of business solution should not exceed 4-5 months.
- the project budget should be fixed.
- the team of high-class specialists should work at the project.
- the team's line-up should not be changed during the project.
Choosing a Solution
The partner of Smart Value Retail company in maintaining the project the consulting company "Accentis CIS" considered possible solutions and held the tender among the companies.
From serious ERP solutions SAP solutions, Oracle and AlData/Gold were considered. Finally after comprehensive consideration the Smart Value Retail company made a choice for benefit of the new, left in January, 2008, packaged SAP solution Business All-in-One Retail and for the first time the ALPE consulting company presenting this solution. The choice was caused by the following reasons:
- the SAP company has rich practice of implementation and is an undisputed leader in the market of software products for business which solutions are widely used in the retail industry in Russia.
- the packaged SAP solution Business All-in-One Retail for retail most fully meets requirements of Smart Value Retail company - contains functions necessary for business and can be implemented in a short time.
- the ALPE consulting company in the best way conforms to requirements imposed to experience and qualification of specialists and can guarantee high-quality accomplishment of assigned tasks according to the approved budget.
Main advantage of the packaged SAP solution is that after its installation the customer receives a working system at once. For this reason the ALPE consulting company could guarantee implementation deadlines – it is not necessary to spend time for setup of all system. It is enough to load basic data and at once it is possible to clearly demonstrate all processes. It, in turn, allows to begin personnel training practically right after installation of a system.
One more important point: installation of the set-up solution helps to reduce terms of adjustment of a system to customer requirements because "gap" (discrepancy between the included in the packaged solution and real processes) small, about 15-20%. Implementation
Consultants of ALPE consulting company together with [SAP CIS] localized the packaged SAP solution Business All-in-One Retail and "ALPE consulting" became the Russia's first company which successfully implemented this solution for OLIV'E retail network of Smart Value Retail company.
Implementing solution of SAP was executed according to methodology of ASAP Focus providing consecutive accomplishment of stages of the project and active involvement in work of staff of the company.
Advantages of methodology of ASAP Focus are in what it allows to lower as much as possible temporary, and thereby and monetary costs for SAP ERP system implementation. High interest of the management in the project and harmonious work of a project team and consultants allowed the company to use most effectively functionality of the SAP solution and 5 months later, in August, 2008, to bring a new system into operation with the smallest costs and without loss of quality.
The director on IT [Timur Kosenko]:
"One of the most difficult tasks which faced an implementation team of "ALPE consulting" it is during the short time frame to integrate the SAP solution with other systems and devices, such as: WMS (internal warehouse system; warehousing services are a third party), point-of-sale terminals from [Wincor Nixdorf], with use for the first time in Russia of the developed TP.NET, PDA interface (mobile terminals) with the system of Electronic Data Interchange with suppliers are EDI, etc. We perfectly understood that to cope with such number of interfaces in a short time - a task very ambitious."
