Biography

2017-2018

In 2017-2018 David Rekordon worked as the technical director (Engineering Director) in Facebook where he was responsible for work of teams of the engineers who are engaged in development of the internal working tools of the company allowing employees to create, look for and communicate. He also directed the commands bearing responsibility for projects open source, technical training, technologies of human resources management, the system of a video conferencing and access control in office.

Prior to the beginning of 2017 it worked as the special assistant to the president USA Barack Obama and the CIO of the White House.

2021: Position assignment of the Chief information officer in the White House

At the beginning of January, 2021 it became known of David Recordon appointment to a post of the CIO in the White House (Director of White House Information Technology). The developer reported about it on the page on social network LinkedIn.

On a new position Rekordon famous on participation in large projects Open Source will be engaged in coordination of policy of Presidential Administration in the field of information technologies. Also he will be responsible for control of the budget selected to this segment and systems used by the White House.

Before becoming the Chief information officer of the White House, Rekordon was the vice president for infrastructure and security in Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Foundation non-profit organization.

Earlier Rekordon entered a command of PHP core-developer, headed development of the platform of reviewing of the Phabricator code, was one of leaders of the Apache Cassandra, Apache Thrift and HipHop projects. David is also known for development of the OpenID and OAuth protocols.[1]
