Public authorities of Stavropol Territory pass to the Russian Viola operating systems

2020: End of the first stage of transfer on domestic software

To Stavropol Territory the first stage of the large-scale project on transition of regional public authorities to the Russian software was completed. It became known on January 12, 2021. Within the project a part of jobs and servers of regional public authorities was equipped with operating systems of the Viola family of production of BaseALT.

The domestic Viola operating systems in Stavropol Krai implemented in the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the population, in administration of Stavropol Krai – the state housing inspectorate, committee on food and processing industry, trade and licensing, in the regional tariff commission of Stavropol Krai.

Jobs of the employees having access to personal data and confidential information are equipped with computers from the preset OS "the Viola of 8 joint ventures" with the high level of protection (the rights to the software product belong to IVK company). Other personnel received computers with Viola Workstation 9 OS. Server resources of the Ministry of Culture Stavropol are transferred to Viola Server 8 OS which allows to manage flexibly hardware infrastructure and group politicians.

The whole complex of domestic application programs of different function is provided to employees for the solution of routine tasks. Among them – the office suite "MyOffice", electronic document management system "Case", systems cryptographic data protection, anti-virus information security tools, software products for differentiation and access control, firewalling and a trusted boot, the program network screen for control and traffic management of jobs and servers and others. Implementation and setup of program hardware were also executed by the company "Business of IT".

All governance processes are inseparably linked using information technologies, – Denis Sergeyevich Kurashov, the deputy minister of the industry and communication of Stavropol Krai emphasized. – Stavropol Krai one of the first in the country joined in process of creation of technology independent software platform. Transition to the Russian software allows us to construct entrusted, sanktsionno an independent digital medium for public administration for the benefit of development of political, industrial and social spheres.

In the large-scale and difficult project the first success is very important. It becomes some kind of "tuning fork" on which project participants verify the actions at all subsequent stages, – Alexey Smirnov, the CEO of BaseALT noted. – Transfer of digital infrastructure of a number of the ministries of Stavropol Krai to the domestic software will become such "tuning fork": this experience will be made use also by other authorities of Stavropol Territory. We are grateful to the management and the staff of edge authorities and also colleagues from Business of IT for professional approach to solving of tasks of the project.

Training of IT specialists and users was carried out by specialists of Business of IT company. Further the staff of other authorities of Stavropol Territory will be able to gain knowledge and skills of work with the Russian software in training centers which are created by BaseALT based on the Stavropol regional college of ADP equipment and electronics and the Stavropol college of communication.
