In the middle of January, 2021 it became known of creation of the digital double of the transport system of the Northern Sea Route (SMP, the shortest sea way between the European part of Russia and the Far East). This project through joint efforts is implemented by the Fund of Development of the Far East (FDFE), ВЭБ.РФ, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The digital platform under the name "Arktik Labs" should become a result of their work. The digital double of the Northern Sea Route — the dynamic mathematical model allowing to develop scenarios of development both all Arctic, and certain territories, logistic routes will become its basis.
A system will consider in real time more than 10 thousand parameters, including the Arctic resources, infrastructure, transport, shipbuilding, logistics, economic, ecological and so forth. It will allow to estimate in a complex expediency of investment and infrastructure projects, their influence on dynamics of development of regions and certain territories, influence of the Arctic economy on GDP of Russia, reported on the website of FRDV.
According to TASS with reference to the Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Alexey Chekunkov, a prototype of a system is ready to the middle of January, 2021, there passes it "running in". Start of the platform, according to him, should take place by April.

According to preliminary data, in 2020 the cargo flow across the Northern Sea Route exceeded 30 million tons.[1]
