2017: The largest producers

At the beginning of May, 2018 the IC Insights analytical company  provided results of a research of the world market of analog chips. Texas Instruments not only remained the largest producer of such chips, but also could strengthen the positions.

In 2017 Texas Instruments earned $9.9 billion from sale of analog chips taking into account what the share of the company in the considered market increased to 18%. For comparison, in the 2016th revenue of TI from the specified products was at the level of $8.5 billion, and the share was measured by 17%.

Taking into account growth of revenue by $1.4 billion or 16%, result of Texas Instruments more than twice exceeded an indicator of the second in value producer of analog integrated circuits (ICs) — Analog Devices companies (ADI). Also it is noted that analog chips provided 71% of all semiconductor revenue of TI in the amount of $13.9 billion and 76% of total amount of the sold ICs for the amount of $13 billion.

At Analog Devices of analytics registered 14 percent growth in sales of analog chips. Revenue made $4.3 billion against $3.8 billion a year ago. Specialists estimated a market share of ADI at 8%.

The NXP company was only among the analog chips conducting the supplier who showed negative dynamics. Sales of these products of NXP dropped by 1%, to $2.41 billion according to experts, partly decrease is connected with sale to the Chinese investors of JAC Capital and Wise Road Capital of division Standard Products which was responsible in NXP for production of standard electronic components.

At eight producers of analog ICs from the top ten of sale at the end of 2017 rose more than by 10%, and the most considerable increase, for 35%, the ON Semiconductor company showed.

Everything together vendors from top-10 earned from analog chips $32.3 billion or 59% of all-market result in $54.5 billion. The money deposit of the largest producers increased by 14%, and the total market share increased by 2 percentage points.^[1]
