VersaView 6300 for more reliable and economic system of visualization
On February 5, 2020 Rockwell Automation announced release of industrial PCs and thin clients of VersaView 6300 and the software which purpose — considerably to increase reliability and security of the systems of visualization.
The provided industrial PCs and thin clients of Allen-Bradley VersaView 6300 in combination with the software of FactoryTalk View with the human-computer interface (HCI) and software for management of thin clients of ThinManager will allow to create the full-scale system of visualization. Thin clients are the computers using connection to a remote server with applications instead of a local hard drive. For the crucial systems it is possible to unroll the redundant ThinManager system or the VersaView 6300 PC both with local, and with remote applications for reliability augmentation in case of loss of contact with the server.
Besides, unlike the majority of industrial PCs, each model of the VersaView 6300 family is developed so that to reduce quantity of unreliable elements, such as fans and connectors, or to get rid absolutely of them that promotes cost reduction and life extension of the computer.
These industrial PCs and possibility of creation of more reliable and economic system of visualization — result of acquisition of ASEM S.p.A. company by us, the supplier of technologies of automation from Italy — Dan DeYoung, the area director of the hardware of Rockwell Automation told. — We also work on implementation of the ideas showing other advantages of this merge, such as big personalisation under customers needs, expansion of a range of the released industrial computers and increase in quantity of methods of remote connection. |
Use of data of industrial PCs with the software of ThinManager will allow customers to increase cyber security level. A large number of the PC with local applications installed on production can broaden area for the attacks and increase risks of security. The software of ThinManager allows to start and service on a centralized basis applications from the uniform safe center.
Besides, acquisition and the software, and the equipment for visualization at one supplier simplifies their support. It can reduce quantity of problems, cost and to reduce the average time of repair in comparison with a situation when several suppliers work on the solution of a task. Users can also save thanks to flexible methods of providing information and the simplified licensing of a system on the basis of solutions of Rockwell Automation.
These block PCs and thin clients of Allen-Bradley VersaView 6300B guarantee high performance and are available in different options — depending on scope of application.
Other features:
- block PCs based on Atom processors with edge fastening differ in small weight and are suitable for HMI-of applications, gateways of industrial Internet of Things and applications of data recording;
- devices based on series i processors with edge fastening differ in high power and at the same time are rather compact to save the place in control cabinets;
- devices based on series i processors with wall fastening provide high performance at the low price;
- devices with all methods of fastening are issued without fans that does by their ideal for work with a minimum of maintenance and repair;
- devices with fans of cooling are suitable for conditions in which additional cooling is required.
Panel Allen-Bradley VersaView 6300P PCs are scaled according to technical requirements.
Other features:
- devices are issued with displays with a diagonal from 12.1 to 24 inches and are equipped with Core i3, i5 and i7 processors of the Intel Kaby Lake H family of the seventh generation;
- devices are issued both with analog resistive, and with projective and capacity touch screens for use of the multitouch software;
- construction without fan reduces the need for maintenance;
- touch screens differ in the most flat surface to reduce accumulation of bacteria and to provide hygienic purity for food production.
On industrial VersaView 6300 PCs Windows 10 IoT the Enterprise 2019 LTSC system, the latest version operating system Microsoft of Windows 10 IoT Enterprise is installed. Gigabit Ethernet- ports can cope with large volumes of network traffic.
An opportunity to apply in extreme conditions thin clients of VersaView 5200 and the industrial computers VersaView 5400
Industrial computers and thin clients of Rockwell Automation are improved for use in severe environments and extreme conditions. The producer reported about it on February 1, 2021.
The updated certificates and conformal covering help to increase durability of products and to prolong terms of trouble-free operation.
Producers can increase reliability and durability of automation systems in dangerous zones now. Rockwell Automation improved thin clients of VersaView 5200 from Allen-Bradley and the industrial computers VersaView 5400: now these solutions on visualization can be applied in extreme conditions of the oil and gas and pulp-and-paper industries, by production of buses and in other areas.
Now both products have safety certificates UL Class I Division 2 and ATEX Category 2. Existence of certificates does not raise the price of these products for customers in any way.
For both goods the additional option of a conformal covering appeared. It helps to protect electric circuits of a product from environmental activity: moisture, fungus, dust and corrosion.
At sharing with the software of ThinManager from Rockwell Automation thin clients of VersaView 5200 will begin to obtain information right after connection, and additional setup will not be required therefore replacements of devices will quicker happen. All information is stored on the server therefore the probability of loss of confidential information at sudden shutdown of the thin client of VersaView decreases.
In the industrial computers VersaView 5400 the open architecture is used that gives to users the chance for installation of the software necessary to them. Industrial computers are also used in the software of FactoryTalk Analytics for Devices from Rockwell Automation. This combined hardware-software packet provides to users data access about a status of "smart devices" that helps to trace and improve their performance.
