At the beginning of February, 2021 it became known of the beginning of use of drones by Rosseti for monitoring of transmission lines (power transmission line). The contract is signed with Vega concern.
As told Vedomosti in Rosseti, operation of unmanned aerial vehicles will begin with the Lipetsk region. The equipment including a multikopter, multifunction charging stations and the software (it is developed by Avtomatika concern), the Rosseti center company bought.
She calculates that monitoring from the UAV will allow to collect and analyze state-of-health data of networks and to reduce accident rate of the power transmission line. At detection of defects a system will automatically transfer data to the ERP system of Rosseti, explained to the edition in Automatic equipment. Software carries out 3D - modeling of the area on the basis of the pictures received from the UAV, analyzes geometry of aerial lines and reveals defects, using algorithms of machine vision.
In the course of work the drone follows along the set route and independently defines necessary foreshortenings for photo and video filming. The UAV is equipped with the system of exact landing to charging stations, with a deviation no more than several centimeters. Developers also managed to solve a problem of electromagnetic compatibility: the strong electromagnetic background on power supply networks has not negative effect on the system of navigation of the UAV.
According to the head of Vega concern Vyacheslav Mikheyev, such technology can be used not only in power industry, but also in other industries where permanent monitoring of extended communications is necessary. The software is integrated into the existing information systems of the enterprises and allows to detect threats at an early stage and also to give forecasts for technical condition of objects, he noted.[1]
