According to CNews, the investment is provided for by the New System-Wide Software Roadmap, approved by the Government Commission for Digital Development. The document was prepared jointly by Rostelecom, VK, Kaspersky Lab and 1C.

The Kontur Tolk "development project includes four main areas. The first concerns improvements related to ensuring security for large customers. The second is aimed at improving video and sound quality, service optimization and infrastructure improvements. The third involves the creation of a free tariff to increase the recognition of the product. The fourth area focuses on the development of security tools and the possibility of local deployment of the product.

The project plans to implement a number of new features, including support for meta-applications, a streaming platform and an educational system. Particular attention will be paid to the development of artificial intelligence modules for automatic decoding of the text of conversations.

The audience of Kontur Tolk exceeds 500 thousand people, and traffic has grown 5.5 times since 2022. Among the customers of the service are large Russian companies, such as the insurance company Yugoria, the metallurgical holding Evraz, the network of data centers RTK-DPC and the manufacturer of hair products Estel.

In April 2024, Kontur Tolk transformed into a Space for Communications, combining video communications, chats, a platform for webinars and a system for creating online courses. A key feature of the product was the ability to preserve digital traces of working communication, including recordings of meetings, transcripts and notes of participants.

According to the estimates of the analytical company J'Son & Partners, the Russian market for unified communications in 2023 reached a volume of ₽81 billion, an increase of 22% over the year. After the departure of foreign vendors, the share of Russian developers in this market increased from 29% in 2021 to 45% in 2023. There are more opportunities for communication and collaboration. Group chat participants can quickly assemble an online meeting. You don't have to send a link or enter a meeting in the calendar: just press one button in the messenger. The option is also available in private messages. Interlocutors can easily move from correspondence to discussion.

Contour. Tolk helps build corporate communications. The company can transfer employee contacts to the service once, including through SSO, all data will be pulled up automatically. The user will have access to online meetings, messenger and webinars in one window.

The project is preparing to launch another tool to work in the team - "White Boards." The solution allows you to make records during meetings, create diagrams and visualize processes. The boards are integrated into the service and will soon become available to Contour employees. After testing within the company, customers will also be able to use the tool.

Contour. Tolk expands opportunities for international meetings. The Simultaneous Translation option allows you to hold online conferences with clients and partners who speak foreign languages. When a translator is connected to the meeting, he can synchronously translate the speech of the speakers, and the participants can choose which language to listen to the meeting.

In parallel, the direction of artificial intelligence is developing: the project team is working on creating a prototype translation model without the participation of an interpreter. Another neural network model, the prototype of which is ready, creates a summary of the meeting. AI highlights the highlights of the conversation and draws up in text format, after which the file is sent to the participants. Also, the service team is working on a neural network model that improves the lighting of the speaker at the meeting.

SKB Kontur on April 16, 2024 announced a major update. The service has a section "Artifacts." Now each user can quickly find the meeting they participated in and return to what the participants discussed.

Artifacts include everything that helps to immerse yourself in the context of negotiations and record the results of the meeting. These are correspondence from chats, survey results, conference recordings with ready-made transcripts. The user does not need to download documents to the device. The Contour developers have optimized the video communication service for virtual desktops.

The solution allows remote employees of Russian companies to safely and efficiently conduct online meetings.

Desktop Virtualization Tools (VDI) are used to organize the work of remote employees. The workstation is started on a remote server, and data is not transferred to the specialist's personal device.

The solution is in demand in banks, IT companies, industrial enterprises and other organizations that have special security requirements. VDI allows a business to protect internal information from leakage and optimize costs for the underlying infrastructure.

The developers of the Kontur video communication service have optimized the application for working on VMware Horizon and Citrix Workspace. The update made it possible to ensure uninterrupted operation of the application in a virtual environment and minimize the load on the remote server.
