At the beginning of February, 2021 Philips released the computer tablet based on Windows 10 OS intended for ensuring easy access to information on patients in different emergency situations. Innovation under the name does not represent difficulties in operation, the producer claims.
The medical tablet can be connected to the hospital systems wire or wirelessly irrespective of whether there is in medical institution a tablet or not. Thanks to integration into the software of Philips IntelliVue XDS, the device provides remote access to information on the patient even at considerable load. Use of the tablet does not require existence of a central station of monitoring, a system functions through the standard Wi-fi connection.
Philips considers that their solution will allow to reduce to medical personnel duration of direct contact with patients during the proceeding pandemic of COVID-19 and to save at the same time complete awareness on a status of patients. Moreover, in places where there are additional medical institutions for treatment of the infected COVID-19 of patients, Philips is ready to assist in delivery and setup of tablets.
As doctors try to cope with the increased workloads, security concerns and transition to remote service, it requires the solutions corresponding to these harder and harder circumstances, - the representative of Philips Peter Zize told. |
Philips noted that in addition to the main use of devices in case of emergency for the help to patients, Windows tablet can be also used as the additional screen with the IntelliVue monitors thanks to software of IntelliVue XDS or as an extra working space which processes data of monitoring of patients and other information through IT network of hospital.[1]
