Megafon (SAP R/3)

ERP system of SAP R/3 is implemented in OJSC MegaFon in 2003 for the purpose of providing a full-fledged work of the enterprise and providing up-to-date information for company management on the basis of data of primary accounting.

Solution and Contractor Selection

Search of the new software solution for creation of the ERP system in "Northwest GSM" which left MegaFon, it was connected with growth of the company and the need for fuller automation of business processes, standardization of accounting procedures and preparation of the reporting.

The companies which were in time to prove "Terralink" and "Open technologies" became contractors on implementation of new technology.

Project Progress

The MegaFon company undertook reform of automated systems by one-time implementation of all its modules. By means of SAP R/3 system all financial document flow of the company is implemented. According to the IT director of the company non-management employees waited for system implementation and, the most important, did not resist it. The complexity was only in that those workers and those divisions which never worked in an information system earlier to involve in it and to redistribute duties. Training was organized, and the risk of an unacceptance of a system was reduced almost to zero. The period of adaptation lasted about four months though usually accustoming to the system of such level requires half a year. To simplify system learning, the general knowledge of SAP was given to contractors in the beginning, and profound training was limited to that area in which the manager according to the job description is engaged. Then, when there passed the adaptation period, cross-trainings on adjacent sections were held, and in seven months additional personnel training in SAP CIS company on professional development course was provided.
