2021: Implementation of Commvault Complete Data Protection

On February 10, 2021 the Commvault company, the software maker for data management in clouds and in corporate IT infrastructure, announced the implemented solution and experience of its use in Evalueserve.

According to the company, the outdated disk backup system in the company worked unreliably; backup operation and data recovery on two platforms were executed too slowly. A lot of working time was spent on service of remote tape storage where cartridges with the backup copies written on tape library were transported. It was required to ensure data security and protection against sudden cyber attacks.

Implementation of Commvault Complete Data Protection for data protection using enciphering from different platforms and their recovery according to the indicators of RPO and RTO required for the customer's clients became the solution. As a result backup and data recovery is executed 50% quicker. The volume of backup copies decreased by 50%; it is not necessary to buy every year 250 tape drives as using the solution Commvault backup copies register in disks. The window of backup decreased by 55% and for 78% time of backup of SQL databases was reduced. Duration of exercises on recovery (res-toration drill) decreased by 57%. The customer is sure that even in case of the attack of the program racketeer his data will be in perfect security. Working time which system administrators spend every day on backup system maintenance was reduced from 18 to 45 o'clock minutes.
