The state corporation "Rosatom" noted that in Tatarstan there are a large number of anchor customers for whom the radiation sterilization service will be in demand. In addition, on the basis of the existing medical industrial park, where manufacturers of medical products work, it is possible to organize a full production cycle. Thus, logistics costs and the cost of products will be reduced. And proximity to the international airport and the federal highway will allow you to work with customers outside the republic.

Agreement on the Application of Sterilization Technologies for Medical Products

On July 28, 2021, Rusatom Healthcare announced the signing of an agreement with the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan on cooperation in the application of sterilization technologies for medical products and other products.

The parties agreed to implement a project on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan to create a multifunctional radiation center for the provision of radiation treatment services for medical products. Its capacity will be enough to meet the needs for service not only of the Republic of Tatarstan, but also of other subjects of the Volga Federal District.

The center will be located in the PharmMedPolis RT Medical Industrial Park in Kazan. The location of the facility in Kazan is due not only to the functioning of an industrial medical cluster with a developed infrastructure, but also to a sufficient number of manufacturers of medical products interested in sterilization services. An important factor was the convenient localization near the international airport and the federal highway, which ensures the effective operation of the center.

The availability of sterilization facilities in the Republic of Tatarstan on the basis of a multifunctional radiation center will contribute to the development of the Pharmmedpolis RT medical cluster, as well as to reducing logistical costs and the cost of medical products due to the organization of a full production cycle in Tatarstan. In addition, the creation of the center will increase the attractiveness of the Republic to develop the business of manufacturing medical devices.

The center will be commissioned in November 2023.

Plans to create a center for sterilization of medical products

The Kazan company PharmMedPolis RT, based on its Medprompark, will open a sterilization center with a capacity of about 800 thousand boxes of products per year together with Rusatom Healthcare JSC. The volume of investments in the project is estimated at 350 million rubles, it is planned to put the center into operation in the IV quarter of 2022. This was announced by Vademecum (FF Media) on February 12, 2021.

Medical products, food products, agricultural products and polymer materials will be processed in the sterilisation center. In "Rusatom Healthcare" in response to a request Vademecum reported that they are not yet ready to disclose the details of the project.

Albert Gayfullin, General Director of PharmMedPolis RT, also said that in 2021 it is planned to attract up to 2 billion rubles of investment to the cluster and create 50 jobs here, the same in 2022 and 2023. At the same time, the forecast volume of declared investments of potential residents in 2021 is 1 billion rubles.

Until 2025, PharmMedPolis RT, the company said, plans to attract at least 8 billion rubles and create 200 jobs - with the equipment produced and the use of the latest diagnostic tools and technologies.

The cluster and the company of the same name LLC PharmMedPolis of the Republic of Tatarstan were created on behalf of the head of the republic in 2018. The goal of the cluster organization was the development of the national medical industry, the commercialization of technologies in the field of health care and the support of Russian, as well as foreign companies in the production of medical products and equipment.

At the end of January 2021, it became known that the company PharmMedPolis RT organized the production of nasopharyngeal probes under the brand name InOut for sampling for the diagnosis of viral and bacterial diseases.
