The telecom operator of MTS continues to upgrade the system of billing

At the end of 2005 the largest Russian mobile operator MTS completed implementation of new billing of FORIS BSS/OSS developed by the Czech STROM Telecom entering into Sitronics. The number of subscribers of MTS at that time reached 44 million. Earlier since 1998 MTS used the system developed by the Russian group CBOSS.

Project description of implementation

In 2003 decided to transfer to MTS the subscribers using prepaid-rates of the Jeans family to the FORIS BSS/OSS system of related STROM Telecom (Sitronics which includes STROM Telecom, also as well as MTS, belongs to AFK "Sistema".). MTS referred to advantages of a new system - for example, she allows to rate a talk in real time and to provide to subscribers new services. However, in replacement of billing MTS nevertheless had no urgent need, analysts consider, and this solution in many respects was political.

Did not set the implementation cost of MTS, but in the published reporting for 2004 it was said that in 2003 and 2004 MTS signed contracts with STROM Telecom for $148.8 million Software to these contracts of MTS purchased billing systems with a software support for $32.8 million. The contract with STROM Telecom provided implementation of new billing in all countries where the operator works, - in Russia, in Ukraine, in Belarus and Uzbekistan.

They say, the staff of MTS in the course of implementation rewrote FORIS BSS/OSS software more than half.

2013. Upgrade and development of a system of billing

In March, 2013 the operator started implementation of a single billing system of Foris 5 from Sitronics company on the basis of software Foris Fix, the press service of the company reported on March 20, 2013.

The near-term outlook

In 2013 the company intends to transfer all divisions to a single billing system. It will allow the operator to create the uniform account for subscribers of cellular and fixed connection and in short terms to start all-federal marketing programs. In 2012 the operator reduced number of billing systems from thirty to five.
