2022: Completion of the first stage of reconstruction of the fire water conduit
At the St. Petersburg plant "Svezy" , the first and most significant stage of reconstruction of the fire water pipeline was completed: it was carried out to almost all production and economic facilities of the industrial site. Its total length is about 1,500 m. The total cost of the first stage of construction and installation work amounted to 35 million rubles, the Sveza holding said on July 26, 2022.
The old pipeline was laid above ground and thus was outdoors all year round. In winter, the pipes often froze, because of which they had to be warmed and repaired. This led to the irrational use of water and additional costs of electricity for pumping and drainage. In the summer, due to a drop in the water level in the river. Bolshaya Izhorka there were frequent air attacks and breakdowns of pumps at the coastal pumping station. This threatened interruptions and a decrease in pressure when supplying "fire" water. In industrial production, which includes explosive fire facilities, this situation is unacceptable.
To eliminate the current situation, it was decided to build a new water supply system, which will be underground below the level of soil freezing. In 2021, a project was prepared, and in the spring and summer of 2022, construction and installation work was carried out. The built water conduit will allow, firstly, to significantly increase the reliability of fire water supply by eliminating seasonal risks. Secondly, save over 2 million rubles a year by reducing electricity costs, as well as for the operation and current repair of the onshore pumping station.
2021: The start of the implementation of the fire safety program
At the Sveza plant in Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha, the implementation of a fire safety program began. This was reported on February 17, 2021 by the Sveza company. In the near future, it is planned to launch an intelligent fire prevention system, which quickly detects a fire and instantly extinguishes it with water fog without the slightest harm to the equipment.
In February, the first stage of the fire safety program was launched at the plant's production sites - the installation of sparking systems. The equipment of the Swedish manufacturer will be equipped with two veneer dryers.
Detectors used in the modern system are installed inside the equipment and operate exclusively in the infrared spectrum. This makes it possible to detect real sources of low temperature ignition. It does not matter whether the particles glow or not: if they are hot and have energy, they will be found. The temperature of the dark particles cannot be determined visually, but detectors that capture thermal energy do so instantly. Fires are extinguished with fine water dust with droplets of a special size. It completely extinguishes the fire at the very beginning, without causing harm to the equipment.
The launch of the sparking system is scheduled for March 2021. The next stage of the program will be the modernization of the automatic fire alarm system for warning and managing the evacuation of people in case of fire in buildings and structures of the enterprise.
As part of the fire safety program, seven projects are planned to be implemented in 2021, which are aimed at preventing the occurrence and development of fires and preserving the life and health of the plant's employees.
The total investment in the implementation of the fire safety program this year will amount to about 16 million rubles.
