2021: Transport Model Development

On March 1, 2021, SIMETRA announced that, together with Stroy Invest Project Corporation, it had developed a regional transport model of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The model was implemented using current technological solutions.

About 40% of the territory of Yakutia is located outside the Northern Arctic Circle, which greatly affects the transport network of the region. So in winter, a significant part of transportation is carried out along winter roads, and in summer inland waterways are used. These climatic features of the region required the development of two models at once, for the summer and for the winter season.

Within the framework of the project, forecasts of changes in the geography and volume of traffic for the period up to 2035 were made. Forecasts are made taking into account existing trends in socio-economic development and investment projects planned for implementation.

For us it was a very interesting and ambitious project. Firstly, the Republic of Sakha is the largest region of Russia in terms of area, and secondly, the climatic location of the territory allowed us to work with completely new introductory ones. We carried out this project with our colleagues from Stroy Invest Project, this made it possible to strengthen our own expertise and do a very big job - a truly important project that will work for the benefit of the residents of this region, "said Vsevolod Morozov, head of the SIMETRA system mobility analysis group.

The model developed by companies takes into account all types of transport: road, rail, water and air, passenger and freight transport.

Stroy Invest Project is developing transport planning documents for the Republic of Yakutia as part of the national project "Safe and high-quality roads." We have completed many such projects for the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and we know for sure that the creation of a transport model is an important part of this process, it makes it possible to understand whether the measures in the transport planning documents are really justified. Working together with SIMETRA enriched the project and made it possible to work out all its components in detail. A well-functioning transport system will certainly benefit the economic, investment and tourist attractiveness of this amazing region, "said Yevgeny Litvin, Development Director of Stroy Invest Project Corporation.
