In early March 2021, the US Department of Defense Intelligence Agency selected 144 suppliers to participate in an IT project worth $12.6 billion. Under this contract, the National Intelligence Agency may assign tasks with an indefinite delivery time and an unlimited amount of work.
The Intelligence Agency announced that of the 144 suppliers selected, 107 were small businesses. The list of large contractors consists of traditional IT, telecommunications and consulting firms such as Accenture, AT & T, CGI Federal , Deloitte and Perspecta, as well as others better known for their national security contracts such as BAE Systems, CACI and General Dynamics IT.
SITE III will be a continuation of the second generation E-SITE contract, designed for $6 billion and a five-year execution period. E-SITE was distributed in 2015 among 25 major contractors and 25 small businesses. SITE III managed services include a wide range of IT activities, from basic planning and project management to application development, cybersecurity, connectivity and network services, and enterprise computing, storage, and cloud services.
The contract "aims to improve integration, information exchange and data protection through an optimized approach to information technology. The CIO expects innovations with a common architecture, consolidated operations, and cloud environments to be aligned with the Intelligence Community IT (IC ITE) system[1]
